This spring I will be traveling over to Fort Smith, Montana to spend the month of April guiding on the Big Horn river. I have spent quite a bit of time over there before the crowds arrive. This is a superb fishery that has the largest trout population in the entire state of Montana.
Boasting over 6,000+ wild trout per mile with hatches that come early and stay late. The baetis hatch starts in April and the dry fly fishing can be incredible. The weather is much nicer over there during the spring with average temperatures 10-20 degrees warmer than the Bozeman area. The town of Fort Smith offers few amenities and lodging is at a premium. We have many connections with the area's lodges and fly shops. We are putting together a package deal to make this a great offer.
