Southwestern Montana's Premier Fly Fishing Guide Service

Big Horn trips start this week

Friday, March 29, 2013

This week I will heading over to Fort Smith, MT to start the season off on the Big Horn River. I am excited to get things started and get back in the rowers seat. My first trip is scheduled for the first weekend of April but I am going over there for Easter for a quick scouting trip. I will be fishing with long time friend and great guide Cam Coffin from Blue Ribbons Flies in West Yellowstone, Montana.

It has been a long time since we have been able to fish together and I am excited to not only share fishing stories but catch up with a good friend. Cam and I have a long history of having a great time together but it has been quite some time since we have been able to fish together. I am looking forward to having him row me around and net my fish for me as I am sure he is hoping for the same. The fishing reports have been stellar for nymphing and the dry fly fishing is just warming up. There have been a few reports of some baetis (Blue winged olives) but lots of midges. It should only get better as Spring settles in Montana. As advertised in the last newsletter I am offering trips to this great destination at the discounted rate of $395 a day for the month of April. Regularly priced at $520 a day this is a great value to fish one of the West's finest rivers. This special has been well received but there are still dates available. If you are interested in this special be sure to contact me about available dates and logistics.
