Southwestern Montana's Premier Fly Fishing Guide Service

PLAN YOUR FISHING ADVENTURE

When planning a fishing trip there are always many things to consider. This covers the basic questions that are asked on a regular basis. If you have any additional questions feel free to send us an email.

GETTING TO BOZEMAN

Bozeman now has the largest and busiest airport in the state of Montana. They service many of the bigger airlines such as Delta, United, Allegiant, Frontier and Alaska airlines. Many of these airlines now have direct flights from major metropolises during prime seasons. They also connect out of Denver, Salt Lake City, Seattle and Minneapolis. Even though our airport is 1/4 the size of many other bigger cities it is a smooth running point of entry for people coming out to enjoy Southwestern Montana and Yellowstone National Park.

DECIDE AND RESERVE EARLY

Once you have decided on dates to fish it is important to book as early for many reasons. One reason is that there are limited fishing dates throughout the summer. Quality guides are booked early for most of the prime dates. The longer you wait the less chance you have of booking a seasoned and qualified guide. Many of my clients book as many as 3-6 months out to insure they know what to expect. Another reason for booking early is to get the lodging reserved. Many of the destinations we travel to are small fishing towns with very limited lodging options that are based on a first come first served basis. Booking your trip early helps ease the problem of scrambling to find any lodging options that might be left later in the season. This doesn't mean that the lodging isn't available but we want to make your trip as easy and enjoyable as possible. Destinations such as the Missouri River in Craig, MT only has a limited amount of rooms and when they are booked we must stay in other options from 20-45 minutes away. Not quite as convenient as being right in the middle of the action.

THE KEY TO SUCCESS IS FLEXIBILITY

We will always ask you for your input on what you want out of your trip and do our best to fulfill your wishes. We also want to make sure that we give you the best chances for success. Many variables can affect our rivers. We may need to switch rivers after a hard thunderstorm the previous day, a prolonged run off or unfishable winds may have us choosing a different area because the conditions demand it. We always want to satisfy your wants but keep in mind that we might have to switch gears, because of water or weather conditions that are out of our control to give you the best day possible.

SPECIAL NEEDS THAT NEED TO BE ADDRESSED

If you have any dietary needs or problems wading, it is important to let us know. Many of our clients have food allergies, are gluten free, vegetarian, recently had a procedure done or need one. Letting us know any special information will help us make sure your trip goes smoothly. We can cater to just about anything but it has happened that we have talked and planned a specific walk wade trip and the client shows up in a leg cast. All we ask is that you give us a heads up before your trip so we can plan accordingly.

Cancellation Policy:

    • A. Deposits
Deposits for canceled guide trips will be refunded in full with a 45 day or more notice. Cancellations within 45 days will forfeit all deposit monies. If we are able to re-book the guide, we will refund the deposit or apply it to a trip at a later date. If a trip is cancelled with less than 24 hours notice, the full price of the guide trip will be charged. Our guide trips go out in all safe weather and water conditions, therefore inclement weather, water levels or undesirable fishing conditions are NOT acceptable reasons to cancel or receive a refund. All cancellations must be given by written notice, either e-mail or by mail. The date a written cancellation notice is electronically received or postmarked will be considered the date of cancellation. Trips cancelled by the guide or mutual guide/client decision due to unsafe weather or water conditions, state or federal closures, or other uncontrollable circumstances will have the entire deposit refunded.

  • B. Processing Fees
We understand that unforeseen circumstances can arise, and we strive to work with our clients to find a solution that works for everyone. However, due to the policies of our credit card processor, we are unable to refund processing fees for cancelled trips. These fees represent a significant portion of our costs, and unfortunately, we are not able to absorb them.

In order to offset the costs associated with cancelled trips, we have implemented a policy that there will be a 15% fee for any cancelled trips. This fee is intended to cover our time and resources spent preparing for the trip, as well as the loss of the processing fees. We understand that this may be an inconvenience for our clients, we want to assure you that we are committed to providing exceptional service and ensuring that every trip is a success. If you have any questions or concerns about our cancellation policy, please do not hesitate to reach out to us. We appreciate your understanding and continued support.

We make no exceptions to our booking and refund policy and encourage clients to purchase trip insurance if concerned about the possibility of cancellation.
